Hiya, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol has been enjoying the warm weather and it makes it lot easier to get out and about. Lots to tell you about this week. The Toddster has been pretty busy on the review front but more on that later. There are even some Oscar winners on this one too. Time to see what we see.

New on DVD

The Three Musketeers (2011) - Heroes never have it easy when it’s time to take up a cause. D’Artagnan (Logan Lerman) always wanted to be a Musketeer and now wants to take his rightful place with them. When he comes to France to join them, it won’t be easy as he thinks. Cardinal Richelieu (Christoph Waltz) always has some scheme going to take down the Musketeers and the King of France. His latest scheme might have a chance of working with the help of Lord Buckingham (Orlando Bloom) and Lady Dewinter (Milla Jovavich). D’Artagnan needs to team with Athos (Matthew Macfayden), Porthos (Ray Stevenson) and Aramis (Luke Evans) to see what these villains’ plans really are. Can our heroes find out what’s happening before it’s too late? Jovavich has a brand new movie called “Resident Evil: Retribution” coming out in theaters in the Fall.

The Adventures of Tintin - Based on the comic book and from the mind of Steven Spielberg, He brings us an animated adventure of a young man named Tintin. Tintin is a young guy trying to find the truth and as a reporter he’s always looking for a story. With the help of his loyal dog Snowy and his other friends, Tintin finds a model ship that contains secrets possible tied to a 100 year mystery. This brings him to the attention of a not so nice guy named Sakharine who thinks Tintin might have found a treasure that he’s been looking for. The mystery that the model holds takes Tintin on a long journey halfway around the World where he finds an old shipwreck called the Unicorn that holds a lot of treasure. Will Tintin find the answers he’s looking for and stay ahead of the bad guys? Spielberg also another movie coming to DVD very soon called “War Horse” and will be featured in a future patrol.

Also on DVD

Jack and Jill - Family is something that we all have. In Jack’s (Adam Sandler) case, family is something he often wants to avoid. He loves his own family but when his twin sister Jill (Sandler in a dual role) come to visit for Thanksgiving, Jack would like to avoid her altogether. His wife (Kate Beckinsale) talks into letting come stay with them and from there, the craziness takes over. Jack loves his sister but just how much can he really take? Sandler has some great DVDs including “The Wedding Singer,” “The Longest Yard,” and “The Waterboy” all available on DVD in stores now and are some of the Toddster’s favorites.

The Descendants - Sticking with the family theme, Matt King (George Clooney) often thought of himself as a family man and really was at peace with things. After his wife is in a boating accident and he comes to find out that she had been seeing someone else. Matt has to reexamine everything he thought was good. Even selling his land in Hawaii makes things complicated. The family life he thought was there isn’t what he thought it was. Can he make some sense of it all? Some of the Toddster’s favorite Clooney movies include “The American,” “Oceans 11-13,” and “The Peacemaker” available on DVD in stores now.

We told you we were busy! The teamup is on the way very soon and a review of “John Carter” will be here next time. The Toddster will be back.
