Kicinski announces run against Hanna for Congress
NORWICH – Earlville’s Michael Kicinski kicked off his nascent Congressional campaign at Howard Johnson’s Thursday night, setting off a Republican primary against Congressman Richard Hanna in what is set to become New York’s 22nd District.
Kicinski, a resident of the Village of Earlville, has been active in local and national issues for over 25 years. He has also been active for three years in the Norwich Tea Party Patriots.
The former Earlville mayoral candidate said believes this country “deserves a candidate who will fight for the principles and morals that founded this great nation.” He said he has no conflicts of interest to interfere with representing the people and their concerns with issues.
Kicinski has been interested in the local government since moving here in 2003, being a regular Village Board meeting attendee and running for local office twice.
“Limited government, and protecting our liberties. We haven’t seen any of that in reflected in the votes that Richard Hanna has done while he’s been in Congress the last year and a half,” Kicinski told YNN News. “Every time we compromise, we’re pushed back further and further and we’re losing more and more of our freedoms and liberties. No more compromise, period,” Kicinski said.
