Franklin repeats as D-2 national champion

PUEBLO, Colo. – Unadilla Valley graduate, Trevor Franklin, became just the fourth Upper Iowa wrestler in school history to win two national titles when he capped an unbeaten season earlier this month with the 133-pound Division II national title

Franklin went 28-0 this season and extended his winning streak to 44 matches over the past two seasons. He picked up a takedown in the waning secondsof the first period of his finals match with Andrew Pokorny of St. Cloud State, and never trailed in a 3-2 victory.

Pokorny worked an escape and added one point for riding time in the final period to tie the match before Franklin escaped late in the third period for the decisive point.
