Pro-drilling organization releases ‘The Real Dimock’ video
DIMOCK, Pa. – A pro-Marcellus Shale drilling group, Dimock Proud, has released a video highlighting the town’s landowners, residents and business owners’ positive feelings toward natural gas development.
Dimock Proud is a community organization founded in 2011 to bring residents together and celebrate the energy companies that are providing opportunity, jobs, and revenues to the township. The group supports petitions urging the federal Environmental Protection Agency and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to allow natural gas production to move forward in their community.
Their video refutes claims that Marcellus Shale gas drilling has contaminated drinking water, and points to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency testing conducted this year which has shown Dimock’s water to be safe.
“Regardless of how the media continues to portray our town, the residents here are aware of the actual truth and that is what is represented in this video today. While we would have rather not spent our own money on putting together a video to highlight how beautiful our town really is, the litigants, their allies, and the media advancing their message provided us no other choice,” said Dimock Proud Spokesperson Anne Van Lenten in a press release announcing the new video.
The newly released video can be found on the group’s website, www.dimockproud.com.
