BINGHAMTON – At NYSEG Stadium Monday, Seton Catholic Central pitcher Pat Gosney overpowered the Purple Tornado lineup striking out 14 in six innings of work in the Saints’ shutout win.
Connor McCormick had a double and two RBI to lead the Saints. Connor Ackerman added two hits, two runs scored, and two RBI.
“We had two singles to start the game, and then we struggled the rest of the way,” said Norwich coach John Martinson. “It was a rough day for us at the plate.”
Norwich plays at Oneonta Wednesday.

Sherburne-Earlville 15, Adirondack 3
ADIRONDACK – Sherburne-Earlville compiled a complete game of solid pitching, hitting, and defense in overwhelming Adirondack on Monday.
Mike Wilson struck out 14 and allowed two hits in six shutout innings for the victory. Jake Bohnert was 4-for-5 with two doubles and four runs scored, Mick Khoury had three hits and three RBI, Jesse Yerton doubled three times, and Wilson had two hits to aid his own cause. The Marauders also played error-free defense.
S-E (6-3) hosts Sauquoit Valley on Wednesday.

Unadilla Valley 8, Greene 1
GREENE - Brett Smith kept the Greene lineup off balance pitching a complete-game three-hitter on Monday.
Smith struck out five, and started UV’s five-run first with a lead-off triple. Brandon Kuhn reached on an error to score Smith, Zach Montgomery had an RBI single, and two runs came in on wild pitches.
“Unadilla Valley is a well-coached teams, and the two errors they made, neither hurt them,” said Greene coach Steve Burghardt.
Greene pitcher Josh Hurlburt bounced back after a rough first inning pitching five scoreless frames before UV nicked him for three runs in the seventh. Hurlburt struck out nine and gave up seven hits.
Kurt Haycook and Justin Hofer had two hits for UV.

Oxford 8, Afton 5
OXFORD – Oxford answered Afton’s two runs in the top of the fourth with four runs of its own to create some breathing room in Monday’s victory over the Crimson KNights.
Ryan Moore had a bases-loaded two-run single, Richard Ryan drove in one run with a single, and the fourth run came in on a dropped third strike.
“We were able to string some at-bats together in the fourth, and that was the difference,” said Oxford coach Chris Palmer.
Jesse Dedman and Ricky Parsons had ribbies in the fourth for Afton to score Mark Viviano and Connor Graven-Briggs. Viviano and Cameron Oswald had two hits for Afton.
Matt Moore had two hits and an RBI for Oxford (6-4) and Andrew Golden was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Golden also pitched six innings giving up three runs for the win.

Richfield Springs 9, G-MU 3
COPES CORNERS – Richfield Springs’ Keegan Wheelock-Tanner took a no-hitter into the seventh inning in pitching his club to a win over G-MU Monday.
Tanner had nine strikeouts in the game, and was cruising until the Raiders’ DeMario Reed hit a lead-off single in the seventh. “We were putting the ball in play most of the game, but they did a good job defensively,” said G-MU coach Rick Mohrein. “We made a few errors here and there, and that hurt us.”
G-MU (3-9) hosts Morris Wednesday.

SOUTH OTSELIC – Three Brookfield pitchers combined to allow just two Otselic Valley hits, and the Beavers rapped out 15 hits to beat the Vikings on Monday.
Zach Noble was 3-for-4 to lead Brookfield with two RBI and two runs scored.
OV’s Howard Straight tripled, walked twice, and scored a run.
