Job fair and expo set for Saturday
NORWICH – Area job seekers and employers will have a chance to showcase during the Second Annual Chenango Community Expo and Job Fair, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Chenango County Fairgrounds.
The event – hosted by Celebration Creations Wedding and Event Planning, and sponsored by Fidelis Care and WCDO Radio – is an opportunity for employers to exhibit products, services and organization efforts, and have a chance to meet with potential new employees, said coordinator Kerri Green. Admission is free.
Twenty-five area businesses in the private and non-profit sectors are planning to take part in this year’s expo, and possibly even offer a new career path to the right individual. Notable agencies to attend include: Fidelis; WCDO Radio; NBT; Community Bank; CWS; Staffworks; Visions Federal Credit Union; Chenango Health Network; Manpower; and DCMO BOCES Adult Education.
Following the success of last year’s expo, Green said there was a positive response from vendors and patrons who encouraged her to continue the event at the fairgrounds this year.
“Part of this is to let the community know what’s available here,” said Green, explaining the opportunity businesses have to promote their products and services within the area. “I think a lot of people don’t know what’s in their own back yard ... You can get something affordable and of good quality locally.”
