Oxford Dollars for Scholars hosts golf tournament

OXFORD – Oxford Dollars For Scholars will host the second annual Jim Podraza Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday at the Bluestone Golf Course. The tournament is named in honor of longtime ODFS member Jim Podraza, who was the Oxford High School principal, an original founder of ODFS in 1991, its first president and longtime chairman of the golf tournament.
Register your team by calling Bluestone Golf Course at 843-8352 or David Branham at 843-6223. The tournament uses a captain and crew format with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. There will be coffee and doughnuts available before the start, so come early to loosen up and enjoy some camaraderie with your team and the other competitors. There will be a luncheon with prizes awarded to participants after the tournament.
The tournament fee is $40 per member or $60 per non-member. This price includes: Tournament fee, greens fee and cart, coffee and doughnuts and lunch with non-alcoholic beverage.
Oxford Dollars For Scholars is a local, non-profit, tax-exempt organization affiliated with the National Dollars for Scholars Program. It is staffed entirely by non-paid volunteers and uses its funds to assist Oxford Academy graduates to further their education. Donations are tax-deductible.
