Guiffre, Smith perform for Monday Evening Musical Club
NORWICH – The Monday Evening Musical Club will present its Advanced Students and Scholarship Winners in a free performance on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the United Church of Christ in Norwich.
Any community members who have attended the Norwich High School musicals the past several years will be familiar with this year’s scholarship winners, vocalists Breanne Guiffre and Dillan Smith. These two talented students culminated distinguished high school careers last month with unforgettable performances in ‘Aida.’
Breanna Guiffre has attended Conference All-State as well as the New York State Summer School of the Arts for Choral Studies. Her musical instructors include Mary Mayo, Susan Ticknor, Mark Sands, John Kramar, and Cathy Hammons. She currently studies with Meena Conant. Breanna will attend SUNY Fredonia next fall, where she will be a Musical Theater major.
Dillan Smith has been involved in music, and especially singing, since childhood. He has attended Conference All-State, and his musical instructors include Mary Mayo and Mark Sands, as well as Meena Conant, with whom he studies now. Dillan will major in Musical Theater this fall at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
In addition to this year’s scholarship winners, piano students Mason McDowell of Eaton, Mick Khoury of Sherburne, and Jason Handy of Norwich, all students of Anita Humer, will perform. Vocalists Dana Bowers of Hamilton, Shannon Staley and Haley Muth of Sherburne-Earlville, all students of Meena Conant, will sing.
Please join The Monday Evening Musical Club and enjoy the performances of these talented and dedicated young musicians. All MEMC concerts are free; the Club accepts free-will donations which go directly into its scholarship funds.
