Greene advances to Class C finals

Greene 7, Elmira Notre Dame 2

ELMIRA – Greene made it three out of four on two fronts.

The Trojans (17-4) won a Class C playoff game at Elmira Notre Dame for the third time in four years, and consequently, will play in their third Section IV title game in four seasons.

Greene rapped out 13 hits against the top-seeded Crusaders, and opened the game with three runs in the top of the first to create the early advantage.

Taylor Ellis, Morgan Ellis, and Kylie Schaff had consecutive RBI singles in the opening inning, a marked improvement over Wednesday’s win over Seton Catholic Central when scoring and hits were tough to come by.
