Howard Johnson’s shows off renovations at Business After Hours
NORWICH – Members of Commerce Chenango gathered at the Howard Johnson Hotel on North Broad Street last Wednesday for an evening of business networking, as the agency, in conjunction with the hotel, hosted another installment of Business After Hours.
Among the evening’s highlights, Howard Johnson General Manager Dana Meyer and hotel owners George and Phebe Banta showcased changes at the hotel which include an updated lobby area, alterations to the pool, and room and bathroom renovations made throughout the hotel over the last several months.
Additional renovations are underway.
“We are very happy that everyone came out to see the improvements we’ve made here,” Meyer said prior to a group tour. “We’re working on making this a bigger and better hotel.”
“We’re very excited to be associated with such nice people and to be associated with Norwich,” said Phebe Banta.
“It’s been a great relationship,” George Banta added. “This is another step forward to meeting new people in the area.”
With the recent addition of a Denny’s Restaurant in the hotel, Howard Johnson’s exemplifies the potential benefits of networking among different businesses.
George and Phebe Banta oversee Banta Management Services, a third generation family owned and operated hospitality management company based in Poughkeepsie. The company includes hotels and restaurants that span areas of New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut.
