Relay For Life to hold final team captain’s meeting
NORWICH – The Chenango Relay For Life committee will hold its final team captain’s meeting at 5:30 this evening in the Morrisville State College Norwich Campus community room, 20 Conkey Ave.
According to Relay co-chair Marie DeSarro, it’s extremely important for team captains to attend the meeting, as this year’s Relay For Life – to be held July 20 at the Chenango County Fairgrounds – is fast approaching. With approximately one month to go, she stressed that Relay For Life is open to the public and all are welcome to participate.
“We ask people to come down and support the teams and the event itself ... you do not have to be on a team to come down and walk,” she added.
Invitations to the Survivor Dinner are currently being sent out, said DeSarro, and if survivors fail to receive an invite, they can print an RSVP card online at the Relay website, relayforlife.org/chenangocountyny, or cut it out of the Pennysaver.
“We’re asking that all survivors try to return their RSVPs to us by July 13,” she added, and those new to the event should contact Becky Yacano via e-mail at yacanob@yahoo.com or by phone at 334-4879 for an invitation.
In addition, said DeSarro, team captains, members, survivors, caregivers and sponsors must submit their “Why I Relay” stories to relay.chenango@gmail.com by July 9.
