NEW BERLIN – Unadilla Valley rallied for nine runs in the bottom of the sixth to defeat Cooperstown Monday for its second win of the season in Otsenango Pony League play.
Nate Shackelton homered to lead off the sixth to get the ball rolling for UV, and Austin Taylor’s single scoring the tying and go-ahead runs.
Conor Pope, Austin Lewis, and Kyle King had two hits apiece, and Taylor led with three RBI.

LAURENS – Unadilla Valley scored 11 runs in its opening at-bat, and went on to whitewash Laurens in its Otsenango Pony League opener last week.
Nate Shackelton had four hits for UV including a two-run homer in the first inning. Andrew Radke and Jed Parker added four hits and two RBI, Jed Parker had two doubles among his four hits and drove in five runs, Kyle King finished with three hits and four RBI, Austin Taylor drove in five runs on two doubles and three total hits, and Austin Lewis charted a pair of hits and two RBI.
UV Pitchers Conor Pope and Caleb Simons combined to allow just two Laurens hits with Simons completing the last three innings to earn the victory.

OXFORD – Richard Ryan, Kevin Davis, and Matt Moore combined on a no-hitter Monday night for Oxford in an Otsenango Pony League victory.
The three Oxford hurlers finished with 14 total strikeouts with Ryan pitching the first four innings to earn the victory. Moore, batting lead-off, went a team-best 3-for-4 with three runs scored and one RBI. Angelo Gonzalez, Ryan, and Davis led with two RBI apiece.
Oxford’s record stands at 1-1.

AMERICAN LEGION
Oneonta 10, Oxford-Norwich 1
ONEONTA – Oneonta, coming off a state baseball title, had most of those players contribute to Monday’s American Legion victory over Oxford-Norwich Monday evening.
Ben Moxley scattered 11 Norwich hits striking out 10 and walking none in a complete-game victory. Moxley added three hits and two RBI, and Sean Getman doubled twice driving in three runs.
“It was a pitching duel up until the fifth between Ben (Barnes) and Moxley,” said Oxford-Norwich coach Steve Griffin. “Moxley didn’t walk anybody, and he made great pitches when he needed to.”
Colby Griffin went 3-for-4 to lead Oxford-Norwich. Justin Lindenthaler and Cody Barnes added two hits apiece.
Last week, Unatego-Sidney topped Oxford-Norwich 5-1, while O-N put big numbers on the board in the late innings to defeat Hancock, 12-3, on Wednesday.
Lucas Butcher’s two-run single in the fourth keyed Unatego-Sidney’s offensive attack. Billy Kozak and Dylan Van Pelt chipped in with 2-for-3 days.
Ben Barnes had a solo homer for Oxford-Norwich, while Grady Thompson went 2-for-3.
Against Hancock, Norwich erased a 3-2 deficit with six runs in the fifth, and backed that up with four more in the sixth.
Ben Barnes hit a two-run single to give Oxford-Norwich the lead for good, and Cody Barnes launched a three-run triple to right field to cap the big fifth inning. Ben Barnes, Brendan McInerney, and Adam Pierson all had RBI triples in the sixth.
Griffin was a perfect 3-for-3, Ben Barnes went 3-for-4, and McInerney and Cody Barnes had two-hit nights.
Oxford-Norwich (3-2) is at Harpursville Wednesday.
