Norwich Family Care holds open house to show off new facility

NORWICH – Norwich Family Care and New York Skin and Vein Center on 157 East Main St. made its grand re-opening debut last week, giving patients and local residents a chance to meet Eric Dohner, M.D. and his staff, and tour the newly renovated building to see the changes made.
Dohner – who also has a medical practice in Oneonta – and his staff held the event to showcase the improvements made to the building’s interior. The private medical practice was able to make modifications with funds from Commerce Chenango and the City of Norwich loaned to the business in January. Modifications include a new handicapped accessible entryway, a redesigned lobby and waiting area, renovated offices and new medical exam rooms.
“We wanted to make this building more friendly for patients,” said Dr. Dohner of the changes to the structure of the building. Dr. Dohner officially purchased the facility from Dr. Parker Ward last year.
Dr. Dohner and his staff were also promoting new services that they offer, including a spa and facial massage center, as well as laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation; all made possible by the purchase of new medical equipment.
“I’m glad to be able to be located in Dr. Ward’s building and bring it into the twenty-first century,” Dohner said about the new equipment and services he will now be able to offer. “It’s great that the city and the Chamber of Commerce could provide the funding.”
Attendees to this event were guided through the facility’s newly renovated hallways and given the opportunity to ask Dr. Dohner or his staff any questions about the services or new equipment shown.
Other activities included a raffle for one free hour-long massage and refreshments served at the end of the tours.
