Golden Artist Colors recognized for supporting the arts
OLUMBUS – Americans for the Arts announced this week that it will include Golden Artist Colors in a list of the “10 Best Companies Supporting the Arts in America.”
Companies are recognized for this honor for “exceptional commitment to the arts through grants, local partnerships, volunteer programs, matching gifts, sponsorships and board membership.”
“The company is not only committed to its customers and local community,” said Press and Media Raltions Manager Catherine Vacovsky, “it is also committed to its employee owners as well.”
According to Victoria Kappel, executive director of the Chenango County Council of the Arts, “The Chenango County Council of the Arts is pleased and proud that Golden Artist Colors calls Chenango County home. Since 1980, the Golden family has demonstrated their commitment to the arts, the environment, their employees and their community while growing their small business into an international company rooted in integrity and professionalism. It is absolutely fitting that they have been recognized as one of the BCA 10.”
“We were absolutely thrilled when we received the exciting news,” said Golden CEO, Mark Golden. “We are so fortunate to be able to work with the most creative artists in the world. This both inspires and enlivens our entire staff knowing we can make a difference. Giving back is just our way to join in this community that has given us so much.”
According to Vacovsky, the company will receive recognition based upon “a business model that is responsive to the entire community in which they work – the employees within the business, the local community that supports the business and the worldwide community of artists.”
She added that Golden has provided more than $720,000 to artist programs, organizations and institutions over the years.
Just this year, The Sam and Adelle Golden Foundation opened the doors of its Artist Residency building, constructed from an old barn on Golden Artist property. The residency will begin accepting members in July.
“Golden Artist Colors is passionate about the creative class and recognizes that our engagement and support of the arts is essential to the growth and prosperity of each and every community locally and worldwide,” said Golden President and COO Barbara Schindler.
