SHERBURNE – Unadilla Valley built a 7-2 lead after two innings, and went on to beat Sherburne Thursday in a Otsenango Pony League non-league game.
Nate Shackelton homered and tripled for UV finishing 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI. Shackelton also pitched a complete-game victory striking out nine, while allowing five Sherburne hits.
UV’s Austin Taylor was 3-for-4 with three RBI; Kyle King was also 3-for-4 driving in two and scoring three times. Brendan Brooker added two hits and two RBI.
Ketih Rose had two hits and scored two runs for Sherburne.

The Warriors pulled away with seven runs in the final inning benefiting from four Norwich errors.
Norwich pitcher Matt Gladstone settled down after a rocky start pitching five scoreless innings from the second to the sixth frame.
Norwich’s Brendon Budd, Jordan Vinal, and Dylan Mack had the lone hits against Sidney’s pitching staff. Norwich plays Bainbridge today.
