Oxford man charged with exposure, resisting arrest

NORWICH – A 52-year-old Oxford man has been charged with exposure of a person, resisting arrest, second degree menacing and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon after Norwich police officers allegedly found him – completely nude – walking about the softball fields at Weiler Park.
Daniel Roland Houck Jr., was “fully exposed to passing traffic, visitors to the park and any number of apartment residents at Bordentown Circle Apartments,” according to his police report. Initially, two uniformed Norwich police officers approached Houck, informing him he was under arrest. According to authorities, Houck then became agitated and fled police. When approached a second time, Houck allegedly threatened to strike officers with ballast rocks from the nearby railroad tracks.
Houck was taken into custody following a brief struggle; transported to the UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital for his own welfare; arraigned in Norwich City Court; and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $1,000 cash bail. He will re-appear in court at a later date.
