Sherburne man faces numerous charges after shooting incident

SHERBURNE – A Town of Sherburne man was apprehended Saturday by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office – with assistance from the New York State Police – after he allegedly discharged a handgun in the presence of police.
Kyle A. Davis, 23, was subsequently charged with second degree menacing, fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child, all class A misdemeanors, as well as illegally discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle.
According to authorities, Davis allegedly pointed a handgun at another individual’s face in a threatening manner, following which both parties left the scene. Later, while in the vicinity of the victim – and in the presence of police – Davis began discharging the weapon, although authorities said he cooperated with police following the incident.
Davis was arraigned in the Town of Sherburne Court, remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail and will re-appear in court at a later date.
