Pleasant Street drug bust nabs three
NORWICH – The Norwich City Police Department – assisted by Chenango County Sheriff’s Office detectives – forced entry into an 8 Pleasant St. residence at approximately 9 p.m. Wednesday, arresting three and seizing a “substantial amount” of heroin, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and U.S. currency, according to Police Chief Joseph Angelino.
The execution of the no-knock search warrant and subsequent arrests followed what authorities called a “lengthy investigation” by Norwich City Police detectives and members of the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET), according to a Norwich PD press release.
No injuries were reported and officers met with “little resistance,” said authorities.
Those charged were:
• Scott L. Lavoie, 23, 8 Pleasant St., Norwich, charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony; first degree criminal nuisance, a class E felony; second degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, both class A misdemeanors.
