NORWICH – Tryouts for Norwich-based travel softball tournament teams for ages 16-and-under and 14-and-under are scheduled Sunday, Aug. 19, Tuesday, Aug. 21, and Wednesday, Aug. 22 at the Norwich High School softball team.

The travel team is a collaborative effort from many area volunteers with the hope of drawing the top talent in Chenango County and the Southern Tier. Tryout times are 1-4 p.m. on Sunday and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. Players will be asked to fill out an informational form prior to the tryouts. To qualify for the 16U team, a player cannot turn 17 before Jan. 1; and 14U players cannot turn 15 before Jan. 1. Depending on interest, a 12-and-under team may be added, so all younger girls are invited to attend the tryout as well.
