Unadilla Valley Central School to host Back to School Night
NEW BERLIN – The Unadilla Valley Central School District will host its first-ever Back to School Night from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Unadilla Valley High School, 4238 State Highway 8.
The event will take the place of the district’s traditional Open House – typically held in mid-October – and is an opportunity for students to bring their school supplies in and place them in their classroom or locker; students and parents to meet with teachers; and for students, parents and the community as a whole to better understand some of the academic changes that are taking place in New York State.
From 5:30 to 6 p.m., students will have access to lockers and classrooms to drop off supplies, followed by a Welcome Back Celebration, held from 6 to 6:45 p.m. in the auditorium. Grade level and department information will be available from 6:45 to 7 p.m. and a light dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
The best part? Hot dogs, drinks and chips will be provided, allowing people a chance to eat so they won’t have to fix dinner once they get back home.
According to school officials, “We hope to provide our entire school and community an opportunity to celebrate the re-opening of our beautiful school, to meet our great staff and to better understand what is expected of students, parents and staff starting this year and going forward.”
