Annual golf fundraiser a success for 6 On The Square

OXFORD – The second annual “6 On The Square Golf Outing” was very successful. There were 37 participants (up from last year’s 20), who had a great day of fun on Aug. 26, for a good cause, at the beautiful “hidden jewel of golf,” the Blue Stone Golf Course. Proceeds will foster 6 On The Square’s (6OTS’) volunteer-based 501(c) 3 service.
“With perfect weather, a great bunch of participating golfers, and such generous sponsors, I couldn’t have asked for more.” stated John Knapp, chairman of the 6 On The Square Golf Outing. “Besides having such a good time, this event helped raise awareness of 6OTS and all the benefits it provides our community, while also producing much needed capital to keep it moving forward. We look forward to doing it again next year.”
Winning first place, the ‘Low Score Champions’, who successfully defended their title with a round of 60, was the “Home Team” of Mike Ferrarese, Melissa Stagnaro, Corey Endress and Chad Bradley. They received beautiful handcrafted wooden trophies custom made by John Knapp of Knapp Knoll Woodworks.
“Most Honest Golfers,” who completed their day with a round of 74, were Pat Buckley, Alvaro Bermejo, Joe Knapp and Martin Knapp.
There were four special golfing contests. Mary Branham was the winner of the “Women’s Closest to the Pin” (on hole #7). Martin Knapp was the winner of the “Men’s Closest to the Pin” (on hole #15). Chad Bradley and Pat Conley were the winners of the “Longest Drive.” (Chad on hole #12 and Pat on hole #5).
There was a big raffle held for the latest, state-of-the-art, TaylorMade® R11S Driver, valued at over $400. The winner was Martin Knapp! This driver features a maximum-sized 460 cc titanium club-head that is completely adjustable -loft, face, and center of gravity!
