Greene 4, G-MU 1
Greene 1, Windsor 0
GREENE - Greene controlled play in the first half of Saturday’s Greene Tournament final against Windsor, and the lone tally scored stood up in a title victory over the Black Knights.
Kurt Bartholomew scored with 7:17 remaining after a crossing pass from Alex Leone. Windsor applied most of its pressure in the second half, and had a game-tying shot attempt by Noah Jones punched out by a diving Greene keeper Connor Moriarty with 90 seconds to play.
“They put the pressure on us, and Connor made a clutch save for us to keep the game from going into overtime,” said Greene coach Rick Tallman. “We played very well in the first half, moved it well and had control of the possession. Windsor made some great adjustments in the second half.”
The Trojans advanced to the final beating traditionally-tough, G-MU. Leone and Bartholomew split the four goals evenly, and sophomore Karl Zaengle added a trifecta of assists.
