Palmer gets Ward 6 nod

NORWICH – Daniel Palmer came out as the victor in the Republican primary after the final count of absentee ballots for Sixth Ward Alderman on Tuesday, defeating incumbent Thomas LoPiccolo with an 83 to 76 vote.

“I’d like to thank the voters for their support and my family for their patience over the last few weeks of the campaign,” Palmer said in a telephone interview. “I promise to serve the Sixth Ward and the entire community in any way I can.”

The election for a Ward Six Alderman came down to the tally of absentee ballots following last week’s Republican Primary. The race was too close to call Thursday night, when Palmer led with only five votes over LoPiccolo.
