Norwich Pharmaceuticals gives $14,000 contribution for Gordon Park upgrades

NORWICH – A generous donation from Norwich Pharmaceuticals is paving the way to embellish Gordon Park, bringing a rejuvenated appearance to the heart of downtown Norwich.

This year marks Norwich Pharmaceuticals’ 125th anniversary and in recognition, the company is investing in the community where its success began. NPI business leaders met with city officials in Gordon Park on the corner of West Main and North Broad streets yesterday to present a $14,000 contribution to be used toward park upgrades. The changes will include new benches and lights to match those in found in East and West Park, as well as a new fountain to stand in the center of it all.

“As Norwich Pharmaceutical celebrates 125 years as a company, we are grateful for the dedication of our employees and the local community, whom together are responsible for this amazing achievement,” said NPI President of Commercial Operations Terry Novak. “Our contribution to the Norwich Business Improvement District for the Gordon Park renovation further reinforces our commitment to continue supporting the community in which we work.”

Earlier this week, NPI addressed the Friends of the Park group – a small community volunteer organization that renovated East and West Parks in 2011. Friends President Eric Larsen addressed the Norwich City Council last week, which gave the organization the go-ahead to manage the project and the funds.
