Cyclones sweep division titles

NORWICH – The Norwich Cyclones’ A, B, and C teams swept victories Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field to capture Tri-Valley League division titles.

The unbeaten “C” team held Rome to negative yards for the game downing the Colts, 24-0 to win its division outright. The Cyclones opened the scoring on a three-minute, 60-yard drive with a 22-yard touchdown run by Jacob Davis. JT Vinal had a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter for a 18-0 halftime lead. Elijah Rodriguez scored on a three-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to finish the scoring.

The defense was led by Davis, Kyle Sheppard, Noah Bufalini, David Berger, and Vinal.

The Cyclones “B” team also remained unbeaten in a division-clinching 12-0 victory over Cazenovia.

Drew Walsh reached paydirt on a five-yard jaunt in the second quarter for a 6-0 halftime lead. Thomas Parrella hit Cristobal Caballero on a 10-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter raising the lead to a dozen points. Payton Stirone led the Cyclones backs with 98 yard rushing on the day. Heading up the Cyclones’ defense were Scott Manwarren, Jacob Lamb, Carter Rudnitski, Kegan Wright, and Zack Mills.
