Windsor netters defeat Norwich in three games

NORWICH – Windsor spoiled Norwich’s season finale toppling the Tornado in three games Thursday, 25-19, 25-22, 25-17.
Chelsea Cappello and Kyle Cuchek had 10 assists apiece for the Black Knights, who had the advantage at the net. “It was very equal with the serves and rallies, but it was hard to defend their attacks from the corners,” said Norwich coach Shelly Alger, who said the NHS gym was packed. “The younger players stepped up, and I am already looking forward to next year.”
Senior Katie Callahan had five assists and three aces for NHS. Callahan, and fellow seniors Kat DeTomi, Sarah Miller, and Taylor Cook were recognized before the match.

NEW BERLIN – Bainbridge-Guilford closed in on a second-place finish in the Midstate Athletic Conference edging a spirited UV club Thursday, 25-18, 20-25, 25-16, 25-20.
Morgan Bullis had 20 kills for B-G (12-3), and Rachel Smith topped the playmakers with 14 assists.
UV’s Shannon McIntyre produced a balanced performance with seven assists, two kills, and three aces. Before the match, UV seniors Sara Krum, Morgan Weidman, Morgan Winters, Amanda Off, Nicole Watts, Kelsey King, and Adrianna Simons were recognized along with their parents.
