Youth Bureau offers free fall, winter activities for kids
NORWICH – As winter weather draws closer, the City of Norwich Youth Bureau is ready to embrace the snow and ice that comes along with it.
The Youth Bureau has rolled out another session of fall and wintertime activities and is currently accepting sign-ups to participate. This year brings with it a number of favorite winter past times and opportunities for young people in the city, as well as the Towns of Norwich, North Norwich, Plymouth, Preston and Pharsalia. As always, all programs are free and open to the public.
Last year, open slots for many of the fall and winter programs filled up quickly. The junior bowling program for kids in grades 1-4 , which was held for the first time last year at the Norwich Elks Lodge, was a huge success, according to city Youth Bureau Director Robert Mason; but with only 20 initial places available in the program, it’s quickly filling up again this year, he added. Junior bowling begins Saturday, Nov. 10. Bowling for grades 5-12 will also be available later in the season at Plaza Lanes in Norwich.
