Man charged with DWI after leading authorities on high-speed chase
PHARSALIA – A Norwich man has been charged with felony driving while intoxicated after he allegedly led authorities on a high speed chase that began in the Town of Preston and ended with a foot pursuit in the Town of Pharsalia on Saturday.
Christopher P. Lorimer, 48, was charged with driving while intoxicated, a class D felony; unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation; refusal to submit to a breath screening device, a violation; resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor; and a number of other vehicle and traffic law violations, following the alleged incident.
According to a Chenango County Sheriff’s Office press release, Lorimer was speeding westward on County Road 10 in the Town of Preston when sheriff’s patrols attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
