COOPERSTOWN - Sherburne-Earlville upended defending Section III Class C champion Cooperstown Tuesday on the road in its first test this season against Center State Conference competition.

Austin Jasper and Sam Caton led a strong S-E fourth quarter to break away from a 36-36 tie. Jasper had 11 of his game-high 26 points in the final stanza, and Caton bucketed six on his way to a 12-point game. It was Caton’s first game of the season after missing the first two contests due to injury. “Those two (Jasper and Caton) play off of each very well,” said S-E coach Kevin Vibbard. “It’s easier for the both of them when the other one is in the game.”
