Search continues for missing woman
NEW BERLIN – Authorities continue their search for a Town of New Berlin woman missing since last Tuesday, establishing a command post at the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office following the execution of search warrants at her 473 Sheff Road residence.
Jennifer L. Ramsaran, 36, was last seen the morning of Dec. 11 when she told her husband she planned to spend the day shopping at Destiny USA in Syracuse. Her cell phone was discovered the next day on State Route 23 in the Town of Plymouth, while her 2006 Chrysler Town and Country minivan was located in the City of Norwich on Sunday.
On Tuesday, the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office – assisted by the New York State Police, New York State Forest Rangers, and the Norwich and New Berlin Police departments – continued the search for Ramsaran, combing the area around her residence and the location where her cell phone was found. According to Chenango County Undersheriff James Lloyd, no concrete evidence has been found to date and Ramsaran has had no contact with her family since she went missing. Search warrants were executed at 473 Sheff Road, followed by searches of the grounds, home, cars, computers and phone records there.
The search, said Chenango County Sheriff Ernest Cutting Jr., began once again this morning and will continue throughout the day.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information of Ramsaran’s whereabouts to contact its command post at 337-1992. All calls are confidential.
