Still no clues as to missing woman’s fate
NEW BERLIN – The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office has offered no new information concerning the search for a Town of New Berlin woman missing since Dec. 11, even as authorities await forensic results in the case.
Jennifer L. Ramsaran, 36, 473 Sheff Road, was last seen by her husband, Ganesh Remy Ramsaran, as she prepared for a trip to Destiny USA, Syracuse, for some shopping. The Sheriff’s Office, partnered with the New York State Police, New York State Park Rangers and the Norwich and New Berlin Police departments, has since reported the discovery of Ramsaran’s cell phone on Dec. 12, on State Route 23 in the Town of Plymouth; and her 2006 Chrysler Town and Country minivan, found at Plank Road Manor in the City of Norwich on Dec. 16.
Authorities completed their search of the Ramsaran home and its surrounding 18 acres last week, interviewing family members and combing the area for any clues as to Ramsaran’s whereabouts. The process, said Chenango County Sheriff Ernest R. Cutting Jr., has been a slow and a tedious one; Ramsaran has had no contact with her family since her disappearance, and there has been no online activity on any of her accounts, either social or financial. A Chenango County Sheriff’s command post, established early last week at the Sheriff’s Office, remains open, and authorities are asking anyone with information as to Ramsaran’s whereabouts to call 337-1992. All calls are confidential.
