BINGHAMTON – Norwich, down to eight players due to injuries and illness, failed to hold its fourth-quarter lead, and fell in the consolation game of the Stop DWI Classic regional division Saturday morning.

“No one likes to lose a game, but we were able to experiment with some things and get some kids into the game to develop our bench,” said Norwich coach Tom Collier. “In that sense, we accomplished what we wanted to.”
Norwich was without starters Kyle Edwards, Michael Sutton, and Cody Barnes for the consolation game, yet received spirited contributions from Grant Brightman, Danny Carson, and Mike Oralls in building an eight-point halftime lead. Brightman finished with a career-high 20 points, Carson scored 14, and Oralls added 10. Brightman was especially effective in the first half scoring 14 points, while Oralls and Carson provided Norwich with most of its second-half offense netting nine points apiece.

Steve Eggleston completed the layup on a pass from Gallagher. Norwich was no closer than eight points the rest of the way.
“We got back into the game, the but I’m not sure how much we had left,” Collier said. “Maine-Endwell is probably the top team in our league, and it was probably a four- or six-point game until the end.”
Brightman led with 11 points, while Oralls and Edwards netted 10 apiece.
