Beadle’s Lounge to host one-of-a-kind all-star jam
NORWICH – Regardless of what you call it, an open mic or a first-of-its-kind all-star jam, area music fans are in for a treat as Beadle’s Lounge, 15 Lackawanna Ave., prepares to host a gathering of some of Chenango County’s most talented musicians, kicking things off at 9 p.m. Friday.
According to Beadle’s Lounge owners Gary and Merrie Beadle, it’s an idea that has been in the works for quite awhile now, and both are excited to see the end result.
Said Gary Beadle, “It’s a chance for everybody to get together, have a good time and play some music.”
Three generations of the Beadle family will appear on stage as part of the festivities, including Beadle himself, brother Bruce Beadle (on guitar), son Bill Beadle (bass) and grandson Seth Beadle (acoustic guitar). Joining the Beadle clan will be fellow musicians – and friends – Bo Matheson, Bob Tousignant and “Pep” Maiurano on drums, bassist John Stark and guitarist Mike Davis, among others (possibly even this guitar-slinging reporter). Invitations to perform have been extended to a number of other area musicians, as well, said Beadle, who called the event a testament to the area’s unique and long-standing rock-n-roll musical tradition, as well as the camaraderie and fellowship many of these musicians have shared over the decades.
