Oxford man charged with sale, possession of marijuana

NORTH NORWICH – A Village of Oxford man has been charged with a number of misdemeanor marijuana crimes after he allegedly attempted to sell marijuana to an undercover police officer last week.

On Jan. 23, the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office charged Keith E. Tompkins, 21, with fourth degree attempted criminal sale of marijuana, fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana and tampering with physical evidence.

It’s alleged that Tompkins, following a report and investigation into possible drug activity, attempted to sell marijuana to an undercover police officer in the Town of North Norwich. As authorities were attempting to apprehend Tompkins, it’s alleged he fled into a nearby residence, throwing multiple bags of marijuana out of a second story window. The marijuana was later recovered.
