Snowblast a successful fundraiser for breast cancer

McDONOUGH – Snowblast organizers are confidently calling last weekend’s event a success.
Eight snowmobile clubs from the area banded together to host the fundraiser for breast cancer victims last Saturday at the Brackel Bar & Grill.
“It seems everyone is touched by this disease ... You either have breast cancer or know someone who has it,” said organizer Sandy Rhodes. “Breast cancer does not care what gender it picks when it attacks the body.”
According to Rhodes, approximately 300 people attended and nearly $2,500 was raised. The proceeds will be donated to the Pink Ribbon Riders, a national non-profit organization that helps individuals suffering from breast cancer. The Pink Ribbon Riders intend to use the money to aid five individual New Yorkers who are struggling to pay for cancer treatments on top of the expenses of daily living.
