NEW BERLIN - A fast start carried Unadilla Valley to a 17-point victory over visiting Delhi Wednesday.

David Dufresne had four steals in the first quarter that he converted into 10 points. Justin Hofer, who had just seven in the opening half, poured in 17 more in the second half to finish with a game-high 24 points on 9-for-13 shooting. Dufresne netted 14, and Nate Shackelton nine.

“We were able to clamp down on defense early,” said UV coach Matt Osborne. “David was taking the ball strong to the basket, and for the most part, we shot it well.”

UV hosts Bainbridge-Guilford next Wednesday.
