Three appear in court

NORWICH – Three individuals charged with a variety of felony and misdemeanor crimes appeared in Chenango County Court Friday. Two were sentenced to probation following guilty pleas while a third pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.

• Nathan A. Diamond, 33, New Berlin, pleaded not guilty to charges of third degree attempted burglary and third degree criminal mischief, both class E felonies.

Indicted by a Chenango County grand jury in January, it’s alleged that Diamond – on or about Dec. 16 and in concert with another – attempted to break a glass door at the New Berlin Service Pharmacy with the intent to enter and commit the crime of larceny. After attempts to break the door were unsuccessful, Diamond and his co-defendant allegedly fled the scene and were later located in Otsego County, according to authorities.

Diamond’s bail was continued at $1,000 and he was scheduled to re-appear in court at a later date.
