COPES CORNERS – Edmeston jumped out to an 11-point lead in the first quarter, and extend the lead to 13 points by halftim in a win over the Raiders Monday night.
Savannah Fistrowicz had eight points in the opening quarter for Edmeston, who led 15-4 at one point in the first quarter, and advanced the margin to 25-12 by halftime.
“They came out stormin’ and were pounding it inside to Fistrowicz,” said G-MU coach Jim Johnson. “We came out a little flat, and they took advantage of it. We had a lot of good shots in the second quarter, but we also had too many turnovers.”
Jenn Mason scored 10 for the Raiders (4-11) who host Franklin Wednesday in their season finale.

SOUTH OTSELIC – Cincinnatus won the rubber match of its three-game set with Otselic Valley this season outscoring the Vikes by 13 points in the second half Monday evening.
Devin Blanchard scored 18 points for the Red Lions and Joleen Wingenbach had an even dozen.
Leanne Haitian paced OV with 16 points.

EDMESTON - Edmeston finished the first half on a 20-2 run to defeat the Raiders for the second time in a week.
Brandon Fallon had 14 points for the Panthers and Linton Wainright scored 12.
G-MU closed the gap to 12-8 after scoring the first bucket of the second quarter. From there, it was all Edmeston. “They just got much more intense and started pushing the ball up and down the floor,” said G-MU coach Rick Mohrein of Edmeston. “We just couldn’t match them.”
Tim French scored 13 points for G-MU (0-15), who host Franklin Wednesday.

VESTAL – Norwich failed to get on track at Monday’s Section IV Class B sectional bowling tournament at Midway Lanes. The Purple Tornado totaled 2,494 for three games to place sixth out of eight teams.
Matt Gladstone led NHS with a 543 series, while Corey Huggins added a 527 and Karlie Hill a 525. Tornado head coach, John McCumiskey, said Hill was the lone Norwich bowler to exceed his/her season average.
Waverly won the tournament by eight pins over Windsor totaling 3,056.
