City PD nabs four following drug raid
NORWICH – Four individuals are facing a variety of felony and misdemeanor charges following the execution of a “no-knock” search warrant at 7B State St. by the Norwich City Police Department at approximately 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, a search that led to the confiscation of what authorities called a “large quantity of heroin.”
According to a Norwich PD press release, the raid was conducted following a brief investigation into the sale of the narcotic in the city and the search warrant – signed by Chenango County Court Judge Frank Revoir Jr. – was issued shortly thereafter. Detectives with the Norwich PD said they had received information that quantities of heroin were being transported to Norwich from the Southern Tier area.
Those charged include:
• Ashley N. Babcock, 25, of 7B State St., charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument; and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, all class A misdemeanors, as well as first degree criminal nuisance, a class E felony.
