The Last Supper
The Canasawacta Valley Free Methodist Church will be presenting to the community the Easter drama, “The Last Supper,” at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Chenango County Council of the Arts. The play was written and first presented in 1954 and since has become a part of many communities’ outreach to the world to bring Easter to all. The plot of the drama centers on Leonardo da Vinci’s classic portrait “The Last Supper,” the theme centering around the statement Christ makes to his disciples during The Last Supper, “One of you will betray me.” The subsequent question is in the heart of each disciple, “Is it I, is it I?” One by one, each disciple interacts with the audience as he begins to question and doubt himself and his dedication to Jesus Christ. Communion to be served as a part of the evening event. There is no admission fee and it is open all. For more information, cal 334-3073. Photo by Frank Speziale.
