OWEGO - Despite dropping the top two singles spots, Norwich easily claimed its second tennis victory of the season toppling Owego Monday.
Norwich swept the three doubles points, and didn’t allow a game in two of those, Meanwhile, Matt Craig and Roman Cwynar were dominant in their victories at third and fourth singles surrendering just a single game each.
“Owego lost a lot of its lineup, and they’re definitely in rebuilding mode this year,” said Norwich coach John Stewart. “We were a little rusty out there, but we’re hoping for more consistent weather so we can play more consistently. We should have some good tests later in the week.”
Norwich hosts Susquehanna Valley Wednesday and plays at Oneonta Thursday.
