Seton Catholic Central 10, Norwich 4
BINGHAMTON – For the second time in three games, a bad start conspired against Norwich’s victory hopes.
Seton Catholic Central scored all 10 of its runs in the first inning Monday afternoon to defeat the Tornado for the second time this season.
Neil McCormack’s two-run triple highlighted the Saints’ opening inning. “If you had seen us from the second inning on, you would have thought we won the game,” said Norwich coach Rich Turnbull. “We looked really bad in the first inning. We had four errors, and (Seton) did hit the ball well. It was a perfect storm.”
Rob Wheeler had a two-run single in the second inning for Norwich, and Colby Griffin finished 2-for-4 with a run scored in the loss. NHS pitcher Cody Graves closed with five shutout innings.
