O’Brien captures Afton Golf Club scratch championship
AFTON – Despite dropping 10 shots from his opening-round score, Brandon O’Brien had enough game left in a three-hole playoff to defeat Josh Hitchcock for the men’s scratch championship at Afton Golf Club Sunday.

Hitchcock made up a six-shot deficit with the low round Sunday notching a 4-under-par 68.
Lori Shelley ran away with the women’s scratch title shooting a two-round total of 8-over-par to beat runner-up Donna Palmatier by 21 strokes.
