Norwich BID set for this year’s Lunchtime Live!

NORWICH – On July 10, the Norwich Business Improvement District (BID), in conjunction with the Chenango County Farmer’s Market, will be hosting the first performance of its annual event, “Lunchtime Live!”
The performances will be held in East Park every Wednesday (rain date the following Thursday) from noon to 1 p.m. And yes, all the performances are free. Everyone is invited to grab a bag lunch and head to the park for some midday entertainment.
Performances this year will begin with Brian Murphy’s original folk-rock compositions as well as classic rock, patriotic and American favorites on July 10. The next week will feature local blues guitarist (and Managing Editor at The Evening Sun) Brian Golden on July 17 followed the next week by the easy listening styles of Joe Lombardi. The married vocal duo Aaron and Claudia Karppala will end the month with a performance on July 31.
The month of August will be kicked-off with guitarists Ron Palmer and Jeff Rasmussen on August 7. The pair have been playing together for more than three decades and play a variety of different genres as well as their own original songs. August 14 as well as August 21 will see performances from Autumn Rum, previously known as My New Obsession, in which one will experience the acoustic duo of Connie Silverbrand and Marc Funaro. The pair play an eclectic array of songs from the 70s to today, anything from James Taylor to Alice Cooper. The final performance of the year will be the classic and original songs of Pamme Swan.
Ann Coe, administrator of the BID, encourages people to come out and enjoy the beautiful parks.
“Take a minute away from the busy day to enjoy the music, and the park. Bring your lunch and take advantage of our local Farmer’s Market. It’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Coe. – Tori Russell, Sun Intern
