OCO Elites drop two to Utica Post 229

UTICA – This past weekend, the OCO Elites’ under-17 baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Utica Post 229, 14-8 and 14-2.
In the first game, Post 229 took command with eight runs in the second inning to create an 8-4 lead. OCO was hurt by the combination of five fielding erros and five Utica hits.
Richard Ryan and Austin Taylor led OCO’s batters with two hits and two RBI apiece.
Game two was completed in just five innings as Utica pitcher Vinny Femia allowed just two hits for the win, while his teammates rapped out 13 basehits against OCO. Vito Castranova tripled and was a perfect 4-for-4 to lead Utica.

NORWICH – Oxford scored all of its runs in the third and fourth innings, and hung on for a one-run win over host Norwich Tuesday in the Otsenango Pony League.
Kyle Crawford was 3-for-4 with two RBI, and Kevin Davis added a two-run single.
Davis pitched four innings for the win, and Austin Crawford pitched 2 2-3 innings for the save.
Paden Burlison and Jon Predmore had two hits apiece for Norwich. Predmore had two RBI and Burlison scored two runs.
