One dead, one injured following Sherburne ATV accident

SHERBURNE – An all-terrain vehicle accident resulted in the death of a passenger and the hospitalization of the operator shortly before midnight Saturday. Mark A. Brong, 25, High Bridge, NJ, and his passenger, Jeremy R. Edmonds, 33, Milford NJ, were riding an ATV in the Town of Sherburne and traveling south on Brown Road when authorities said Brong lost control of the vehicle, at which point it exited the roadway and overturned, ejecting both men. Shortly thereafter, members of the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, Norwich Police Department, and the Sherburne Emergency Squad arrived on scene. Brong was transported to Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica and remains in critical condition. Edmonds was pronounced dead at the scene from undisclosed injuries.
