NORWICH – The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office have charged an individual in relation to a break-in which occurred Thursday morning at approximately 5:30 a.m. at Adult World, located at 6090 state Highway 12.

Devan A. Ellsworth, 23, of Norwich, was charged with third degree burglary for allegedly breaking into the store and an undisclosed amount of cash. He was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $20,000 cash bail to re-appear in court at a later date.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, physical evidence was discovered at the scene of the crime which, along with other factors, contributed to the arrest of Ellsworth, who was taken into custody at around noon Thursday – about six and a half hours after the alleged break-in.
