New bakery opens its (oven) doors in Earlville

EARLVILLE – A new aroma of baked goods is perforating the air of the Village of Earlville and hanging low over its center square where the aromatic smell is venting out of the recently opened BB’s Bakery and Cafe. The bakery first started pandering to hungry Earlville citizens and people passing through the village on August 2. The bakery provides an assortment of baked goods along with extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.

Lynne Ryberg, a baker of nine years, was inspired to open up her bakery by her late grandmother and brother, who both loved to bake.

“I am trying to continue their legacy ... my grandmother used to bake cakes for all of Sidney,” said Ryberg. Last year, during the Chenango County Fair, Ryberg walked away with a number of ribbons for her baked goods, including best in class for her layer cake. Since opening, the new store owner says she can’t keep her baked goods on the store’s shelves, and during the Earlville Music in the Park last Tuesday, she estimates that just about every other person there to listen to the music took a second to stop by the bakery and check out her assortment of baked goods.

Located at 5 East Main St. in the Village of Earlville, the bakery and cafe took Ryberg and husband Aaron – an Earlville native – approximately three months to get up and running. However, equipment is still coming in and the business will inevitably see some expansions in the near future.
