Norwich golfers finish in middle of pack at DiNunzio Memorial

ENDICOTT – Norwich shot a team score of 436 to place in the middle of the pack in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference's season-opening Nick DiNunzio Memorial Tournament at En Joie Golf Club Monday afternoon.

Brothers Ryan Johnson and Corey Johnson paced the Tornado shooting 84 and 85 respectively over the par-72 layout. Norwich scored 436 in five-person scoring to place ninth out of 16 teams.

Horseheads claimed the team title with a 404 aggregate, and Susquehanna Valley freshman D.J. Griffiths was the overall medalist shooting a one-over-par 73.

Elsewhere for Norwich, Nate Scheer had a back nine 38 to shoot an 87 in his first varsity match; Greg Todd notched an 88, and seventh-grader Alex Gage carded a 92.
