Teen charged with felony for alleged school bomb scare
SHERBURNE - The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in relation to a bomb scare that forced students, teachers and staff from the Sherburne-Earlville middle and high school building in September.
On Thursday, a 13-year-old male from the Town of Lebanon was arrested for allegedly making a bomb threat at the Sherburne-Earlville School District. Authorities believe the youth had written a threat that he would blow up the school. The incident was one of two bomb threats the school received during the first two weeks of the new school year.
The youth, who’s name will not be released due to his age, was charged with falsely reporting an incident in the second degree, a class E felony.
